Blow up those balloons and pick up that cake. It’s time for a birthday party! Nashville is a hotspot for entertainment and fun, and there are so many different places you could potentially host a birthday bash.

While Nashville is mostly known for its bars and the Broadway strip, we’re revealing where to have a birthday party in Nashville that is kosher for all ages. Take a look at our picks below.

Pinewood Social

Up for a game of bowling? Pinewood Social is one of the most popular bowling alleys in Nashville that has an upscale, vintage reclaimed vibe. You can reserve up to two lanes for your entire party. If you plan to bring the cake along, reserve their dining room space too. Food and cocktails are just a few steps away inside Pinewood Social for adult-centric birthday parties.

Rural Hill Farm

Rural Hill Farm sits on a stunning expanse of 150 acres just outside of Nashville. You can rent our cabins for overnight stays, pavilions and party pad, or both. Walk the trails, enjoy views of the stocked pond, and host up to 150 guests for your birthday party.

The Adventure Park at Nashville

Both adults and kids alike will have a memorable birthday party ziplining through the trees of Nashville. The Adventure Park features multiple ziplines, bridges, and climbing adventures to keep you entertained all day. The treetop trails are ideal for anyone over the age of seven, and they have an Adventure Playground for 3-6-year-olds.

Bring the whole party to play golf at Topgolf in Nashville. They offer packages for groups of between seven to twelve people, and each package includes two hours of play and two bays. Topgolf has food and drinks on-site, TVs, and a premium atmosphere that even a non-golfer would enjoy.

How Our Story Began at Rural Hill Farm

The story of Rural Hill Farm—how it all began—goes back to a Saturday morning in 2012. This Saturday started like any other day, waking up with breakfast and coffee with my husband, except the rest of the day would forever change our lives.

Shortly after breakfast, my husband dragged me out to an auction for farm equipment. Though this is not my favorite pastime activity, I tagged along to show my support. We arrived at the auction, but it wasn’t long after our arrival that my husband’s interest shifted from the farm equipment to the land that was being auctioned.

While he stood at the auction site, I decided to wander around the land. The natural beauty of this hidden Tennessee treasure was mesmerizing, and I fell in love with the property and quietly wished to call it mine. While the auctioneer was bid calling, I slipped away to the creek that sat tranquil on the property to calm my nerves about finding out who would win the land.

I remember those next moments plain as day when a lady struck conversation with me about the peacefulness of this secluded acreage. “Looks like the tall guy with the glasses is the new owner,” she said. For a moment, I felt a mix of relief and disappointment, knowing that my husband doesn’t wear glasses. But when I looked up the hill toward the auction site, I spotted my husband: tall, wearing sunglasses.

From that moment onward, we have poured our heart and soul into creating what Rural Hill Farm is today: a beautiful location giving you the freedom to celebrate those special days in your life.

Wedding Table Rental

The Ultimate Guide to Wedding Rentals

Everything you need to know about wedding rentals, all in one place.

What would your perfect wedding look like? Would it be Gatsby glam or simple and chic? The type of wedding rentals you choose will serve the perfect details that will help your vision come to life. Here are our three steps to navigating wedding rentals and making sure it all comes together perfectly.

First, Plan Your Vision

First things first: plan your wedding vision and actually write it down. This involves outlining all the specifics: number of guests, indoor or outdoor, time of year, theme or aesthetic, and specific events such as fireworks or buffet-style dining.

We even recommend writing down what items or décor you will need to achieve your ideal setup. Think of decorative items, such as photo albums or water fountains, and functional items, such as serving platters or chairs.

Getting specific on those details before you start reaching out to rental companies will speed up the process of finding your dream wedding vendors.

Second, Ask Questions

When speaking with various vendors it is good to have a list of questions so you have all the info you need and help determine which vendor to go with.

If you need inspiration, check out this wedding rental checklist by Bridal Guide. It provided a great list of suggested questions to ask your potential wedding venues!

  • Are you licensed and insured?
  • Can we view actual rental items from your supply, or will we be shown samples?
  • Will we be able to contact you on the day of our event?
  • What is included in the pricing?
  • How much is required for a deposit?
  • When is the deposit due?
  • When is the final payment due?
  • Which methods of payment do you accept?
  • Will someone instruct us on navigating and using everything in the rental?
  • Do we have to clean dishes, glasses, and flatware, or do we load dirties into their crates?
  • How does post-celebration cleanup work? Do we have to do it ourselves?
  • What are the costs and conditions if any items are broken or lost?
  • What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Third, Tables and Linens and More

Aside from decorations and flowers, you will need to decide where you’re getting your table settings and chairs from. You will need tables, chairs, linens, dishes, glassware, flatware, serving utensils, and serving ware.

Some wedding venues provide tables and linens, either for free or at an added cost. Always ask your venue if they provide any complimentary table settings or if the kitchen is equipped with serving utensils and the like.

If the venue does not provide what you need, or if you simply don’t like what they have to offer, factor in the cost of each item mentioned above into your wedding budget.

How to Celebrate Music City’s 4th of July and Have Fun

July 4th is all about the boom — fireworks lighting up the night sky in sync to an American, classic song. Music City is one of the best destinations in the Southern US to watch a magical 4th of July fireworks show.

Each year, Nashville draws thousands of people to come celebrate America’s Independence Day, many traveling from out of town just to be part of the fun.

With tons of live music shows, Broadway bar specials, fun activities, food vendors, and kid zones, there is undoubtedly a little bit of something for everyone to enjoy.

Nashville July 4th Do’s

DO try to claim a spot somewhere on the pedestrian bridge that overlooks the water for a great view of the fireworks.

DO also consider viewing Nashville’s July 4th firework spectacular from Lower Broadway, Ascend Amphitheater, and the Walk of Fame Park.

DO know that there will be thousands of people piling into downtown and its surrounding areas, so be safe and plan your travels accordingly.

Nashville July 4th Don’ts

DON’T visit downtown if you want to avoid crowds.

DON’T bring your own fireworks, even if they are just simple sparklers.

DON’T forget to purchase tickets in advance for some of the ticket-only events on Broadway, such as the July 4th Rooftop Party at Famous Nashville.

Best Places for July 4th Fun

If you have children, pack them up for a full day of fun at Wyler’s Light Family Fun Zone. You can stick around until the fireworks begin, since the park has a good vantage point for the show.

From 12 pm until 9 pm, head to the Broadway Stage at Fifth and Broadway to enjoy a lineup of music artists. The Ascend Amphitheater opens at 4 pm, where you can hear the GRAMMY-winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra.

Acme Feed and Seed throws an all-day Independence Day celebration that is worth checking out as well.

How to Plan A Graduation Party

If you’ve got a graduating senior, now is the time to start planning their graduation party. From food and fun to decor and desserts, here are some tips you’ll need to plan a wonderful graduation party — stress-free.

Choose the right venue

One of the best parts about living in Middle Tennessee is the weather. When it comes to hosting a party, our great weather gives hosts the flexibility to choose between indoor and outdoor spaces. When it comes to picking a grad party location, it’s a good idea to choose a venue that offers a bit of both environments. Covered pavilions and tents are great ways to take advantage of nice weather while also offering a contingency plan in case of rainfall. Before deciding on a venue, make sure to ask about the electrical setup. The last thing you want to do is run a noisy generator near guests for food or entertainment needs.

Don’t forget the decor

Whether you’re hosting a grad party at home or at a Nashville-area event venue, having the right decorations can make your event one to remember. Consider making table centerpieces featuring the graduate’s school photos from elementary, middle, and high school. Using school colors is a great way to stick with the theme. Pick up tablecloths and napkins that match or consider renting linens to create a classier feel. A word of advice: skip the confetti. These tiny pieces of plastic are a hassle to clean, dangerous to wildlife, and generally not worth the headache. Instead, try sprinkling wrapped mints or candies on tables for an edible, yet decorative solution.

Create a beautiful backdrop

A graduation party is the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family you may not see very often. It also may be one of the last times a new grad will see some of their old friends, so it’s important to capture the memories. Creating a designated photo area is a great way to encourage guests to take photos, while serving as decor. If choosing a naturally beautiful venue, like Rural Hill Farm, you may want to enlist the help of a photographer to capture professional-quality photos with your loved ones.

Fun for all ages

Planning the perfect graduation party also means considering your younger guests. While outdoor activities and sports are wonderful go-to ideas, one unique way to entertain children is by creating a scavenger hunt photo list. Have kids use a disposable, Polaroid, or cellphone camera to capture images from a pre-selected list — note things such as “a smiling Grandma” or “the graduate with her friends” to keep kids busy, engaged, and content capturing memories of their own.

If you’re planning a graduation party near Nashville, it’s time to consider Rural Hill Farm. Our family-friendly venue is set on 150-acres of rolling Middle Tennessee farmland, able to comfortably accommodate up to 150 guests in our covered pavilions.
